This 1920 property was needing a little modernisation by the customer. It required a full DPC and some general maintenance before the main restructural work could begin.
A full damp proof course was installed throughout the ground floor of the property. The house was of standard ‘Accrington Brick’ Construction, this is very typical for properties of this style in the local area.
After the DPC was installed, the main existing lounge and kitchen needed to be reconfigured. The main task was removing the main internal wall. Special care and attention needed to be taken due to a ‘load bearing’ wall.
Preparation and layout reconfiguration – Removal of main internal wall
Extensive replastering
Once the main wall was removed, we reconfigured the the living area. The property was also fully replastered downstairs.
New Kitchen installation
Following the replastering the old dated kitchen was removed and replaced by a new modern style kitchen which gave the property a fantastic new family area, having previously reconfigured the downstairs layout.
Fully redecorated and flooring
Once finished the property was then fully redecorated, including the installation of new modern style radiators and a ‘Herringbone’ style wooden floor thoughout the downstairs living area.
